To the editor:
I was shocked. Pure fire shot out of me!
The cartoon on the opinion page in Wednesday’s Daily Journal showed a truck with the American flag on the door, with women in the back being hauled off. In the corner of the picture was a note that read, “In Nigeria, kidnapping girls and selling them is called an act of terrorism.” Above the truck, we read, “Over here, it’s called ‘business as usual.’” Disgusting liberal drivel.
In Nigeria, they don’t care about the women. They are treated like crap; they have on say, no rights. It’s the fools who run that country who allow those Muslim nuts to do as they please. If the truth were known, other young women were kidnapped and sold and it’s called business as usual there, not here!
To imply that our country takes part in kidnapping and selling women is garbage that comes from liberals who apparently hate our country. While yes, trafficking in women does happen here, it is in no way to be compared to Nigeria. Our law enforcement pursues these crimes and stops them when they can. We don’t have leaders who make money off of selling women! They do!
This cartoon was so demeaning toward our country and the Americans who strive to end crimes like these. Why would an editor of any paper pick this cartoon out of all the millions out there? Finally, our country has poured billons — if not trillions — into Africa over a century. When is Africa going to stand up?
