Hours after local law enforcement issues a Silver Alert for a missing 73-year-oldRockingham man, authorities said he was located in a wooded area off U.S. Route 1 North in his vehicle. He was safe, said a Richmond County Sheriff’s Office investigator.
The North Carolina Center for Missing Persons had issued the Silver Alert at about 1 a.m. Friday looking for what was believed to be a missing endangered man in Rockingham.
Beeler Dwayne Brown, 5-8, 175 pounds with blue eyes and short grey hair had last been seen a gray hat, gray coat, orange shirt and blue jeans. The alert noted that Brown could have been suffering from dementia or some other cognitive impairment.
Authorities were on the lookout for a 1999 gray Ford Ranger with North Carolina license plate.
The Daily Journal was notified of the alert at 8:36 a.m. At 10:18 a.m., Capt. Jay Childers reported Brown had been located.
