Do you ever wonder how hot it is inside a car sitting on pavement, especially when someone has left a child or dog in the vehicle?

Safe Kids N.C. and the Rockingham Police Department will be informing the public on the temperature difference inside and outside of a hot car today, Saturday, Aug. 31, with a public demonstration.

From 11 a.m to 2 p.m. at Lowe’s Home Improvement in Rockingham, a vehicle will be set up with a large thermometer that will display the outside temperature versus inside the car.

According to police, this display is to educate the public. Leaving a child or a dog inside a car can be life threatening.
