Suspects caused nearly $35,000 in damage on Saturday at Sports Cycles of Rockingham after they busted out the glass of a side door, unlawfully entered the premises and stole two all-terrain vehicles.

Law enforcement officers from the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office and the Rockingham Police Department responded on Saturday to a burglar alarm at the business, located in the 700 block of U.S. 74 Business.

When officers arrived, they located a side glass door broken out. When the owner arrived, it was reported to police that a 2013 Polaris RZR 800, orange and black in color, and a 2014 Polaris RZR 800, yellow, black and white in color, were missing.

While inside, police said, the suspects knocked over other motorcycles and caused damage to the store.

The sheriff’s office and the Richmond County Crime Stoppers are offering a cash reward for information leading to the arrest of the individuals responsible and the return of the stolen machines.

Anyone with any information is asked to call the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office at 910-895-3232 or Crime Stoppers at 910-997-5454.
