ROCKINGHAM — A man is accused of stealing a neighbor’s gold ring, according to Richmond County sheriff’s deputies.
Deputies say Alex Wade Kirk, 22, of Ledbetter Road in Rockingham, broke into a home on the same road July 21 and stole the ring.
Kirk sold the ring to local business and it was later recovered, deputies say.
He was arrested July 25 and charged with breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering and obtaining property by false pretenses.
Kirk was jailed under a $17,000 secured bond.
Court records show Kirk has multiple pending charges including two counts of assault on a female, two probation violations, three counts of causing injury to property, disorderly conduct and felony counts of obtaining property by false pretenses and attempted obtaining property by false pretenses.
N.C. Department of Public Safety records show Kirk has been convicted on charges of assault, breaking and entering, larceny and possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance.
