HAMLET — Kathy Wise has been named Sandhills Regional Medical Center’s Employee of the Year. The recognition is the highest honor a hospital employee can receive.
Employees are nominated for the award by their colleagues based on their commitment to patient care, their professionalism and their contributions on the job. Wise was chosen from among 248 employees for the recognition.
Wise was praised for the pride and ownership she takes in her work in serving Sandhills Regional Medical Center along with her positive attitude and dedication to her work in accounting. This is the second time Wise has been Employee of the Year. The first time she won the honor was in 2006.
The Clinical Manager of the Year Award was given to Michelle Schnell, director of general med/surgical and ICU. Jessica Phillips, physician practice administrator, was named Non-Clinical Manager of the Year.
“Each employee plays an important role in delivering quality care and creating the best possible experience for our patients,” said David Clay, Sandhills’ chief executive officer. “Kathy, Michelle and Jessica exemplify the best of who we are through their dedication to the hospital and our patients. It is a pleasure to recognize them and celebrate the hard work and dedication of all our employees.”
