ROCKINGHAM — The Richmond County Tourism Development Authority announced Tuesday the launch of its newly redesigned tourism website.

“VisitRichmondCounty.com now offers visitors fresh custom features which will help deliver the right content to the right potential visitor at the right time, providing users with exactly what they are looking for,” said Kelly Pruett, RCTDA executive director.

The enhancements made to VisitRichmondCounty.com focus on all aspects of consumers’ travel decision-making process. The site offers content for planning and booking to sharing trip ideas on social media. The site provides visitors with a customized approach to exploring the website by organizing and mapping out the things they want to see and do in Richmond County.

Not only will visitors find information about iconic Richmond County destinations, attractions, accommodations and events, but the brand new website touted as easy to navigate also features:

• Slide shows and image galleries

• Interactive maps and web links

• Trip ideas

• A list of dining and shopping options

• and coming soon, an all-inclusive event calendar for the county

Additions to the site create greater exposure for the county’s tourism partners — making it easy for potential travelers to find and access tourism partners’ profile pages where they can find directions through Google Maps, nearby attractions, information and amenities and deals all in one location.

All Richmond County shopping, dining and civic and nonprofit groups are invited and encouraged to contact the tourism authority for information on how to get free links to their websites and social media pages. Updates and improvements will be made on a daily basis, Pruett said.
