HAMLET — In an emergency meeting of the Hamlet City Council on Monday, a quorum of members including Jesse McQueen, Mayor Bill Bayless, Johnathan Buie and Eddie Martin approved last-minute amendments for the fourth quarter of the 2013-14 fiscal year.
The following changes were unanimously approved:
Miscellaneous revenue increased by $29,000 due to an insurance payment for city shop repairs.
Public buildings and maintenance expenditures increased a total of $49,000 and included the cost of repairing the water burst damage at the city shop, attorney fees and landfill application permit fees, while funds set aside for condemnation decreased by $20,000 because those funds were not spent.
Enterprise fund revenues for water connection fees and reconnection fees increased by $11,500.
Enterprise fund expenditures for chemicals, professional services, salaries, supplies and utilities also increased by $11,500.
