PINEHURST — FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital-Richmond and FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst both have earned “A” ratings in patient safety.

The Leapfrog Group, a nonprofit organization whose aim is to promote high-quality care, released the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grades on Tuesday. The grades are derived from 27 measures of publicly available hospital-safety data for more than 2,600 U.S. hospitals. Patient-safety experts formulate the grades, which are peer reviewed and available to the public.

The designation marks the second “A” rating for Moore Regional Hospital-Richmond and the third for the hospital in Pinehurst.
