RIVER OF LIFE, 106 Pence St, East Rockingham, will welcome the Singing Revelations at 7 tonight. All are welcome.

ST. JAMES CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1018 W. Hamlet Ave., Hamlet will hold its annual celebration/celebracion anual 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. The celebration will feature a water slide and pool, face painting, a bouncy house, the coronation of a prince and princess and live music. Breakfast and lunch will be available for purchase.

ABUNDANT LIFE CHURCH, 139 School St., Rockingham, will welcome Mike Walker, pastor of Jefferson Park Freewill Baptist Church, at 6 p.m. EAST ROCKINGHAM FREEWILL BAPTIST CHURCH, 189 Airport Road, will hold its fifth Sunday Nite Sing at 6 p.m. The night will feature local talent, as well as a skit called “Feasting at the Master’s Table.” For information, call 910-997-3481.

FAITH TEMPLE HOLINESS CHURCH, Rummage Pack House Road, Ellerbe, will hold its General Assembly on Thursday and Friday. Pastor the Rev. E. Galley-Quick of Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, Rockingham, will speak at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. Jack Poe of Sandy Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Rockingham, will speak Friday.

FREEDOM MINISTRIES NO. 1, 211 Earl Franklin Drive, Dobbins Heights, will sell whiting, chicken wingette and barbecue dinners for $7 per plate starting at 10 a.m. Friday and Saturday. Croaker dinners will cost $8 per plate and croaker sandwiches, $5 each. Proceeds will finance the church building drive. Those who wish to order five or more plates will earn free delivery. CAMERONIAN PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 179 Northam Road, Rockingham, will offer Vacation Bible School from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Students in preschool through junior high are welcome.

ST. PETER UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 205 Bridges St., Hamlet, invites everyone to Rainbow Tea at 6-8:30 p.m., East Hamlet Community Center. Attendees are encouraged to wear the rainbow colors of their choice and donate $10.

Aug. 6

CENTENARY AME ZION CHURCH, U.S. 74, Lilesville, will have its annual homecoming and revival at 7 p.m. Aug. 6-9. On Aug. 6, Sunday School will start at 9:45 a.m.; morning service will be at 11 a.m., with Pastor Fred Miller. Lunch will be provided afterward. At 3 p.m., the Rev. Mary Lindsey, pastor of St. John Baptist Church, Derby, will speak. During evening revival services, speaker will be the Rev. Haven O. Anderson, pastor of Marvin AME Zion Church, Waxhaw.

FRIENDSHIP MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH, N.C. 177, Hamlet, will begin its revival celebration at 11 a.m. Aug. 6, with the Rev. Dr. J.L. McCullers presiding at morning service. At 3 p.m., Pastor Bruce Sowell of Barringer Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Norwood, will preside. Pastor Wanda Cassidy of Beautiful Zion Missionary Baptist Church will preside nightly at 7, Aug. 9-11. All are welcome.

HOLLY GROVE MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH, 401 Holly Grove Church Road, Rockingham, will hold its homecoming and revival, “Giving Praises to Our Lord and Savior for the Great Things He Has Done,” Aug. 6-9. Pastor Michael Patrick will deliver the morning message at 11 on opening day. Dinner will follow in the fellowship hall.
