Rockingham woman faces theft charge


CARTHAGE — A Rockingham woman was jailed Monday night on a Moore County shoplifting charge.

Joni Parks Propst, 35, of 109 Midway Road, was arrested on a Moore County Sheriff’s Office warrant charging her with shoplifting by concealment of goods. The offense date is listed as Feb. 5.

Propst was previously arrested in February on a Moore County shoplifting charge from Dec. 23.

She has no criminal convictions in North Carolina and no other pending charges, according to court records. Shoplifting by concealment of goods is a Class 2 misdemeanor.

Propst was booked into the Moore County Detention Center at 9:32 p.m. under a $2,000 secured bond. Her first court appearance on the charge is scheduled for July 30.
