Church to host gospel benefit

NEW BIRTH MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH will have its rainbow tea at 4 p.m.

STELLEY’S TABERNACLE CHURCH will have its joy night program at 6 p.m. with guest speaker the Rev. Gregory Freeman of Stephens Missionary Baptist Church and his congregation. Everyone is invited to attend.

COMMUNITY CHURCH, 193 Mill Road, Rockingham, will have a gospel benefit featuring Eastern Sonrise Quartet and Tina Jacobs, among others, at 6:30 p.m. A love offering will be taken to benefit B.C. ST. LUKE NO. 2 FREE WILL BAPTIST CHURCH, 119 Morrow St., Hamlet, will have Sunday school at 9:30 a.m. Elder Charles Ellerbee will preach its 10:30 a.m. morning service. The church will also be celebrating its Choir Day at 3 p.m. Various choirs, groups, praise teams and soloists have been invited to come. SARON MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH, 661 Saron Church Road, Ellerbe, will have Sunday school at 10 a.m. followed by a men’s day program at 3 p.m. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Jerry McNeill of Green Lake Missionary Baptist Church in Rockingham, along with his congregation.

ST. PAUL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 311 Marlboro St., Hamlet, invites the community to celebrate Holy Communion during the 11 a.m. service. ST. STEPHEN A.M.E. ZION CHURCH, 407 West Ave., Hamlet, will celebrate its annual homecoming at 11 a.m. Lunch will be served after the morning service, and an afternoon service will begin at 3 p.m. with guest speaker the Rev. PRAYER DELIVERANCE MINISTRIES, 108 School St., Rockingham, hosts a feeding program for the homeless each Wednesday.

FAITH ASSEMBLY OUTREACH MINISTRIES will be having a soup kitchen 9 to 10:15 a.m. every Sunday and from 5:45 to 6:45 p.m. every Tuesday. No one is turned away. Food furnished by the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina and donations.
