Marston man faces cocaine charges

LAURINBURG — Scotland County sheriff’s deputies say they seized nearly 5 ounces of crack cocaine following a Friday morning arrest.

Deputies charged David Emanuel, 20, of 67 Modest Road., Maxton and Daniel Scott, 30, of 16801 Dayle Drive, Marston. They said the men were caught with 139 grams, or 4.9 ounces, of the drug.

Emanuel and Scott were each charged with maintaining a vehicle, dwelling or other place for controlled substance, conspiring to traffic in cocaine and possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine.

The arrest was made in a collaborative effort with law enforcement in Robeson County, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and the State Bureau of Investigation, officials said

“They had an ongoing investigation in reference to a drug case,” sheriff’s Capt. Mitch Johnson said.

All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in court.
