There has been a pharmacy in our building since the early 1900's. In 1940 the pharmacy was purchased by John Steele Birmingham. In 1940 Louis Lea Holland joined the staff. Mr. Birmingham retired and Mr. Holland became the owner.
On October 1, 1968, William P. Horne, Jr. Rph, purchased the pharmacy from Mr. Holland. William C. Horne, PharmD, a clinical pharmacist who graduated from Campbell University, joined the staff in 1993. Daphne Smith and Marie Quick are clerks who have been employed at Birmingham Drug Co. for over 50 years. Mary Horne, an RN/pharmacy technician has been employed for 36 years. Michelle Causey, pharmacy technician, has been employed for 4 years.
Birmingham Drug Co. is a small independent pharmacy. At our pharmacy our patients become like family. We take time to know about you and your family. Our clinical pharmacist has knowledge of different disease states and has a close working relationship with the doctors in the area. Most insurance plans are accepted. We recognize that your time is valuable and we strive to help keep costs down for those without insurance with our Mutual Drug Patient Care Club of over 300 generic drugs for $4.00 for a 30 day supply.
