The Ashley Chapel Community Organization hosted a Back-to-School event on Wednesday, Aug. 23 at the newly renovated Ashley Chapel Community Center, 297 Mizpah Road in Rockingham. Backpacks, paper, folders, pencils, and other school supplies were donated by members of the organization and distributed to school-aged children who reside in the Ashley Chapel Community. Door prizes, hot dogs and drinks were also provided. More than 50 children received school supplies, along with encouragement to begin a successful school year.

The Ashley Chapel Community Organization meets on the first Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m., at the Center. All are invited to attend.
