ROCKINGHAM — When it comes to being hard-working and going the extra mile, local neighbor Tara Lanier knows all about it. Lanier is a 23-year-old business manager and co-partner of fast food chain Sonic Drive-In.

“Sonic was my very first job, I’ve been there for six years, and have been a manager for three years,” she said.

After moving to Richmond County all the way from Alexandria, Louisiana, Lanier attended Rockingham Christian Academy and graduated in 2010 as the school’s salutatorian. Continuing her work ethic to be the best she can be, she is now a mom to her 4-year-old son Nathan, and fiancé to Rockingham fireman Warren McBride.

What motivates her?

“The money I earn from working hard at my job.”

Proudest moment?

“The day my son, Nathan, entered the world.”

Biggest influence?

“My dad,” she said. “He is a family man and hard-working all in one”

How do you unwind?

“Going tanning.”

Goals for the future?

“My goal is to start a real career.”

Lanier also has goals to buy her first home.
