ALZHEIMER’S AND DEMENTIA WORKSHOP called “Connecting the Pieces of the Dementia Care Puzzle” will be from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Cole Auditorium. Registration will open at 9 a.m. The workshop is geared towards family caregivers and professionals who would like to learn more about the various types of dementias and how North Carolina is preparing to meet the demands of caring for those who will need long-term care. LEGAL AID OF NORTH CAROLINA will conduct a wills and advance directives clinic in the Bynum room of First United Methodist Church, 410 E. Washington St., Rockingham. Preparation and execution of wills, powers of attorneys, health care powers of attorneys and living wills will be discussed. INDOOR YARD SALE will take place from 6:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 14-15 at Hamlet First United Methodist Church to make up for inclement weather during its regularly scheduled time. Furniture, many household items and Christmas decorations will be available.
