HAMLET — Second Baptist Christian Academy students from preschool through fifth grade raised $451 in donations for the Second Baptist Honduras mission trip. This is enough to purchase 113 cinder blocks to build a house.

Students have also participated in the September “Make Them Smile” Band-Aid drive for National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

The bandages were presented to student Ciara DeBerry, whose 3-year-old brother is battling cancer. The DeBerry family will present these to the University of North Carolina Children’s Cancer Clinic, where Ciara’s brother is a patient.
