BELMONT — Mrs. Betty Lou Humphries, 76, of Belmont, formerly of Rockingham, died Thursday, January 21, 2010 in her home.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 26, in the Bobby Lammonds Memorial Chapel at Russell-Marks Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Ammons officiating.  Interment will follow in the Northam Cemetery Extension.

Betty Lou was born in Richmond County on June 19, 1933 to the late Silas and Mattie Garrison Lee.  Prior to her retirement she worked in textiles at Aleo Manufacturing.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Royce D. Humphries, and siblings Margaret, Viola, Edith, Frances, Aileen, Silas Jr., and Grady.

She is survived by two sons, Ricky Humphries of Hamlet, Richard Mark Humphries of New London; a daughter, Barbara Thompson of Belmont; a brother, James W. 'Shot' Lee of Darlington, S.C.; a sister, Kathryn Sistar of Paris, CA; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Tuesday, prior to the service at Russell-Marks Funeral Home.
