To the editor:
Thank you for your recent column, “Moral degeneracy tramples truth and good taste” (Nov. 5 by Dr. James F. Burns).
You can call me old fashioned, too. I am sharing in a worldwide campaign to help others know and apply the Bible.
The moral decline we see today was foretold. “In the last days,” the good book said, “people will be selfish, greedy, boastful, and conceited,” as well as, “unkind [and] violent.” Also, “they will hate the good” and “love pleasure rather than God” — 2 Timothy 3:1-5, Good News Translation.
Humanity’s survival “may depend on the acceptance of a global ethic,” says the journal Counseling and Values. “Perhaps the most agreed-upon universal moral value is the Golden Rule.”
Our international research journal Awake! covered the subject, “Moral Values That Truly Enrich.” With a circulation of 43,524,000 in 99 languages, a bright light is shining in this dark world.
