Johnny Gordon Teeters Sr., 70, of Maxton, N.C., passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013.
He was born in McMinnville, Tenn., Dec. 24, 1942. He was the son of Gordon and Eugena Teeters.
He was a Vietnam veteran that proudly served with the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne Division. He was the owner and operator of Maxton Motors for 38 years. He had a passion for buying and selling cars, loved drag racing, fast cars and fishing.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Louise Teeters; brother, Quinton Teeters; and sister, Betty Teeters.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Teeters of the home; sons, Johnny G. Teeters Jr. of Texas, Steven W. Teeters and wife Sandra of Hamlet, Kerry Downward and wife Lori of Limerick, Pa.; daughters, Cythia Teeters, Julia Teeters, Lisa Teeters all of Texas; sisters, Julia Wade and Shirley Jennings both of Morrison, Tenn.; twelve grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.
Visitation will be from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at Richard Boles Funeral Service.
Graveside memorial service with military honors will be at 3 p.m. on Sunday at the Oak Grove Cemetary in Maxton.
