HAMLET — Police say several break-ins at Sandhills Parts and Service on Hamlet Avenue led investigators to arrest Terry Lee Zeigler, 56, of Hamlet.

Video footage of the suspect helped police identify Zeigler, who was charged with three counts of felony breaking into a motor vehicle. Zeigler was released on an $8,000 unsecured bond.

Zeigler’s criminal records date back to 1995 when he received a suspended sentence and was placed on probation in Guilford County for convictions including breaking and entering, larceny and possession with intent to sell a Schedule II controlled substance.

In 1996, he received probation and a suspended sentence for the same crimes again.

In 2000, Zeigler served one month and 15 days in prison in Guilford County for breaking and entering.

Zeigler served a lengthier prison sentence from January 2001 to June 2009 in Guilford County for several counts of burglary, larceny and felony breaking and entering.
