On behalf of the Richmond County Adult Corrections, we would like to take this opportunity to thank several businesses for helping make lunch a success at this year’s Special Olympics at Richmond Senior High School.
Each year as our contribution, we enjoy serving hamburgers, hot dogs, and the fixings to the kids and adults of Special Olympics. This would not have been possible this year without the Food Lions of Rockingham and Hamlet, who provided us with buns and a gift card; John Garner of Convenience Corner in Hamlet, for the hot dogs; Haley Norton of Andy’s/Hwy 55 for the hamburgers; William Moss of Cheerwine, for the drinks; Piggly Wiggly of Hamlet, who also provided us with buns; Captain D’s of Rockingham, for their donation of Cole Slaw; Mark Gulledge, Jeff Millen, and Wendell Sessom from the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office who helped cook the food, the Richmond County Jail for their donation of ice; and Denise Smith for her homemade chili.
Each year we look forward to this time to spend with all the athletes of the Special Olympics and we appreciate the help of these businesses and individuals.
I also would like to thank my co-workers: Chavis Everett, Denise Smith, Riquita Quick McNeil, Selene Almond Gibson, Karen Wilson, Rhonda Sessions, Robert Lott, and Chief Jason Graham for their time in helping make this year’s meal a success.
